Merry Christmas!
What a fantastic year we have had! Ma Rani and I have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming so many guests to the table and it has been just as enjoyable trying out new dishes and bringing back some very old family recipes. We are going into 2012 kicking and cooking with our apron strings flying and the spice tray overflowing. We love running Joginder’s Supperclub so thank you to everyone who support us. We will be posting new dates for the end of January and February towards the end of this month so please do join the mailing list.
We will be taking a rest from the end of next week so it just leaves us to wish you all a very merry christmas and an equally happy new year and we very much look forward to cooking for you in 2012!
Rani & Saira xx
Looking forward to Saturday 10th Dec!
What a busy time we have had but looking forward to tomorrow! Shopping done – 6 hours of prep done and it is only 12.30 am!
A big thank you!
Thanks to all our guests last night for making it such a brilliant evening. We were delighted to welcome both old friends and new faces who we hope enjoyed the evening! Photos and blog about the evening coming up!
Our last supperclubs of the year are next month and we are looking forward to cooking for you. The menu for the 10th December is now up so please do take a look and if you fancy visiting us next year then we would love to cook for you!
Thank you to Katie who helped us out with the evening – Saira couldn’t have done it without you! x
Another year almost over!
Thank you to all our guests who have sat at the table this year! Our second year of running our ‘little supperclub in good old Tufnell Park’ has been great, we have met some lovely people, and we are really pleased that quite a few of you keep returning! We are now fully booked for our last supperclubs of the year and look forward to cooking up a feast for you all.
We will be blogging throughout the christmas period as there is always something going on that either Ma Rani or I feel the need to share with you!
2012 will see the return of our cookery classes with a new and improved format that will work for those of you who lead very busy lives but still want to find the time to cook new dishes. Our supperclubs will be running once or twice monthly from January so if you would like to join our mailing list for future dates or to register your interest or pre book places then please do email us, we would love to hear from you!
We will also be popping up in a few unlikely places and working with local producers in Tufnell Park to highlight this wonderful area of London and the great community living here – incidentally if you are on twitter then do follow @TufnellParkLive for all the news and events in Tufnell Park ( you could give us a follow too!)
Our charity supperclubs will continue – many thanks for your generous donations to Cancer Research UK, MacMillan Nurses and Theatre Mad .
Look out for some Olympic themed suppers as well as celebrating the Diamond Jubilee. If you have a special birthday next year, you may want to celebrate with friends and book up the table for the evening!
Thanks again for your support, it is very much appreciated and we are just pleased to be able to offer you a different way to enjoy a culinary evening!

Here are a few comments from our guestbook;
My favourite part was detecting the warmth and generosity of a family in love with food, people, and each other. How blessed I am to have been able to share in this for one night. Thank you. (Evelyn)
Thank you so much – this was definately a highlight for me of our European trip – meeting kind, authentic people and eating delicious home cooked food! I am absolutely stuffed – not just with food, but also with your wonderful hospitality (Derek)

My first supperclub and it was wonderful….really enjoyed the food and the company. I hope to invite you to my supperclub when I start mine up. Thanks, Namaste (Dinah)
What an utter joy to have been able to attend this wonderful evening!! I actually have so much eating behind me (from a week in Rome) and ahead of me (more restaurants in London) that I was worried about overdosing on more food tonight. Now I am so happy I DID overdose! What amazing, delicious food, and what a lovely warm and utter sweet welcome and hosting! Thank you SO much (Anne / Anne’s Kitchen)
Thank you so much for having me over and being so accomodating tonight. I had a wonderful time and the meal was just fantastic. I’m so glad to have found you! Thanks again! (Jamie)
Thanks so much for the beautiful food, you really looked after us and made us feel part of your home, thanks a lot. I am very full – which is a good thing! (Mike)

Up to our Eyeballs….
Hello Everyone!
Apologies for the lacking of blogging over the last few weeks. The phrase ‘up to the eyeballs’ can be applied here as Ma Rani and I have been busy on separate projects but we are well and truly back for a festive season at Joginder’s Supperclub over the next three months! We hope to have our date for November up over the next few days and in December we plan on doing a few so please do join our mailing list!
Next week sees our 2nd Birthday celebration which we are looking forward to immensely and because our guests have always been so generous in helping to support our charities we are going to be raising some more money for the MacMillan Nurses next Saturday.
Before then we have an early Diwali celebration tomorrow – celebrated Punjabi and Gujarati style courtesy of my sister in law’s family. Fireworks, dancing, eating and drinking with a bit of colour thrown in! Photos and write-up will follow!
Blogging to start in earnest again!

Quality time with friends!
Our blog has been a little quiet of late because we both had short breaks. I have had a wonderful ‘cooking and eating’ holiday in France again! Whenever I go to visit my dear friend Carolyn we usually try to run a charity supper club but we decided that this time we would just spend the time catching up! Cooking for a supper club takes three days – shopping, cooking and actually hosting the event on the day. As we only went for a week the decision was made to relax and catch up with each other. We have been friends for 35 years when we shared a house together in London. Our children are friends and so are our husbands!
So we started the week with a B-B-Q in the beautiful garden. As usual the chaps ‘cooked’ wonderful French sausages, de-boned marinated chicken thighs and aromatic kebabs made by your’s truly. Lots of French wine and salad fresh from the garden!
On Tuesday Carolyn cooked a beautiful Salmon en Cruet and I did the accompanying stuffed gigantic Courgette from a friend’s garden. This is the thing about France – everyone grows something and they just share them out and never need to buy anything. You name it and they grow it – figs, apples, raspberries, strawberries, peppers, chillies, courgettes, marrows, kale, spinach, tomatoes, carrots and the list goes on!
So I cooked up an Indian meal one night – Saag Aloo, Channa masala and our signature dish of Murgh Masala. Carolyn knocked up a Nan or two in next to no time! Suffice to say that we didn’t need breakfast the next morning!
Of course the cooking didn’t stop there. Carolyn loves to cook and some of her specialities are jams and breads – check out a small selection of jams and the absolutely yummy ‘flower pot’ baked bread!
What an amazing week of culinary delights which we finished off making our wonderful Apple & Onion chutney because there was a garden full of apples! Didn’t actually have time to finish bottling it up but Carolyn is busy doing just that as I finish writing!
Looking forward to our supper club on the 29th and am busy deciding what to serve up as it is a special evening – we will be celebrating our 2nd birthday and also raising money for the Macmillan Nurses. We are fully booked for this date so if you would like to join us for dates in November and December please email us to add yourself to our mailing list.
See you at the table!
October is all for a good cause
Hello folks! We have 9 places left for Saturday 1st October and 1 place for Saturday 29th October (our birthday supper so it will be a particularly special evening!) Both supperclubs are for charity with ALL donations going to a good cause. Our first supperclub next month will be in aid of the Macmillian Nurses. Come and eat, drink, be merry and help some worthy causes. We look forward to cooking for you! See you at the table! Saira & Rani x
